These Are the Best Winter Getaways in Canada

Sometimes all you need in the middle of a dreary winter is a getaway that will remind you why this season is so incredible. From snowy peaks to warmer tides, there’s nothing like getting out and about in the colder months.

These are the best winter getaways in Canada, and why they speak to so many people’s winter wanderlust.

1. Whistler

Although Whistler homes for sale are some of the most expensive in the nation, there’s nothing that could hold fans back from visiting this beautiful mountain-top resort town. From the countless slopes you can ski or snowboard on to the endless mountain views, small-town vibes, and beautiful spas and amenities, it’s easy to fall in love with.

Whistler is also just a short hour or two from Vancouver, depending on the weather, so it’s worth the drive if you’re in the area!

2. Victoria

Victoria is the warmest city on this list, thanks to ocean air! Although you’ll still see the occasional snowfall, for most of the winter, this city stays dry and above freezing, which makes it a dream come true for most.

Victoria is an artsy and small city that has a lot of personalities and is just across the water from Seattle. If you want to enjoy ocean views and check out creative works, this is the place to go.

3. Banff

When you’re ready to enjoy beautiful nature at its best or even go skiing in one of the top ski resorts in the world, it’s time to stop in Banff. At the lowest part of Alberta, Banff has an incredibly rich culture of beautiful nature, incredible food, and wonderful people. Although this isn’t an affordable place for most people to move to, it’s absolutely worth a visit if you want to make the most out of your winter.

4. Toronto

Sometimes the best way to get the most out of the winter is to run off to a gorgeous city that can invite you in from the cold. Toronto is best known for its endless entertainment, countless museums and art galleries, and the best food in the country.

If you want a multicultural excursion, this city has you covered. Toronto has been rated the most diverse city on Earth multiple times over, which makes every restaurant and store more authentic and enjoyable.

5. Edmonton

Instead of running away from winter, why not visit a city that embraces it? Edmonton has rough and long winters but still enjoys them more than any other season. Despite the cold weather, this is a beautiful place to visit, with endless entertainment, incredible views, and some of the best ice skating and sledding you’ll find. Although you can’t go skiing on a mountain here, you’ll still feel exhilarated!

Winter Doesn’t Have to be Gloomy!

Although many seem to think that winter has to be a gray and boring time for everyone, there’s no reason for that to be the case. Instead, consider traveling and visiting one of these incredible winter wonderlands, and you’ll never find winter boring again!
