A Los Angeles Police Department officer was involved in a crash in East Hollywood Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Melrose and Western avenues, according to an LAPD spokesperson.

Police and multiple ambulances responded to the scene to transfer a man in his 30s who was injured in the crash.

Officials confirmed that the person injured was a police officer. That officer’s condition is unclear at this time, but he was conscious and breathing.

Video from Sky5 showed several LAPD motorcycles at the scene, although it was not immediately clear whether or not the officer was a motorcycle cop.

The crash is under investigation and the intersection was closed off to through-traffic.
