Landlords Plan Legal Action Against Twitter Over Unpaid Rent At Several Office Locations

[ad_1]

Landlords are teaming up to go after social media giant Twitter over unpaid rent, including its headquarters in San Francisco and British offices.

After Elon Musk acquired Twitter last year for $44 billion and since taking over as CEO, he has gone on an extreme cost-cutting rampage that apparently involves not paying bills as a strategy.

Musk’s strategy has also included heavy layoffs and auctioning of company memorabilia and office furniture.

California court documents claim the company failed to pay rent for its head office, and London landlords accuse the company of not paying as well, the Associated Press reported.

Twitter went to court earlier this month after it became delinquent on rental payments for another San Francisco location.

Musk will have to spend time dealing with Twitter plus his other legal woes. Over the past few days, the Tesla CEO has been testifying in another class-action case from the electric car company’s investors, who claim his 2017 tweet misled them about funding to take the company private.
