Derek Carr Bids Farewell To His Raiders Teammates With Custom Bling

Derek Carr is making his exit from the Las Vegas Raiders but made sure to leave his teammates with some bling to remember him by.

On Friday, New Jersey-based celebrity jeweler Al Bekdas, better known as Al the Jeweler, shared custom diamond encrusted pendants made for Carr’s teammates’ wide receiver Davante Adams, who is number 17 and defensive end Maxx Crosby, whose jersey number is 98. Adams and Carr have a long history, playing together at California State University in Fresno before Adams left the Green Bay Packers to play for the Raiders this season.

“This man gave everything he had,” Adams wrote in a touching Instagram post. “One of the most disciplined and loving people I know. Got my bruddas back through whatever.”

Talks of a trade or release for Carr came in late December when Carr was benched for the last two games of the Raiders’ season. In recent days, these talks only intensified on social media, though a trade may prove difficult. A no-trade clause is in Carr’s contract, and the $121 million he was set to receive over the course of three years is more than he would probably be paid elsewhere. On Tuesday, Carr’s agent, Tim Younger, confirmed that his time with the team was over. Following the announcement, Crosby expressed his appreciation for the longtime quarterback, calling him a hard-working and positive player who “brought great juice to the locker room.”

After Al shared the bling, many Raiders fans hopped in the comments to question why Carr didn’t gift his other teammates with jewelry. But It appears that these special keepsakes were reserved for those Carr was closest with.
