Australian Soccer Club Issues Statement Over Public Sex Act Between Teammates

An Australian soccer club is “extremely saddened” after a video surfaced of a player publicly performing a sex act on a teammate during Mad Monday celebrations earlier this month.

The Glen Waverley Football Club was hosting the end-of-season party at a bar when one player lost a bet to another. In the video, a player is seen pulling down his pants and exposing his genitals. Another player kneels in front of him and begins performing oral sex on the man.

Other teammates cheered the two, but there were other patrons in the bar who were not part of the team and were not happy. Eyewitnesses also reported that the soccer players were abusive to the other customers and displayed other destructive behavior.

The Glen Waverley Football Club issued a statement confirming the players involved will face disciplinary action.

“The committee has been made aware of an incident which has occurred during the post-season celebrations of some of our senior playing group,” it read.

“While this occurred away from the club and was not a club-sanctioned event, we are extremely saddened and disappointed in the behavior shown by people who should know better,” the statement continued. “The club is taking immediate action to address the serious breach of our culture and values that has occurred within this incident.”

“The individuals involved, along with the broader playing group, will be both disciplined and educated and, if need be, counseled in the type of conduct expected by members of our club, along with the physical and emotional impact this has had on the families involved, club members, players, and the wider community.”

Glen Waverley said there will be no further comment at this time. In addition, the club asked for respect as players deal with the fallout.
